John Edward Heaton
Wild at heart - John Edward Heaton born in Paris in 1951, has lived in Guatemala, France, Mexico, and the United States for the past five decades.
An innovative and versatile individual, Heaton wears many hats as a visionary, photographer, entrepreneur, artist, world traveler, and problem-solver in the complex and challenging region of Central America. With a wealth of experience from past ventures in France, the United States, Indonesia, Mexico, the Bahamas, and beyond, he conceived his Guatemala projects from the ground up.
His interests span a broad spectrum, including bespoke hospitality and travel concepts, architectural design and landscaping, historic real estate restoration, art sourcing and retail, social entrepreneurship, press relations and promotion. He has spearheaded campaigns to benefit cultural and environmental conservation in Guatemala, actively promoting the visibility of his adopted country in the international press since 1987.
Heaton's meticulous attention to detail, innovative thinking, intuitive and acquired knowledge of Central America's cultural and sociopolitical environment provide invaluable and broad insight to those seeking sound advice for related projects in the region.
He presently spends his time between Santa Barbara California, La Antigua Guatemala and Paris.
Drawing on four decades of immersion in Mesoamerica and travels beyond, Heaton has earned recognition for his diverse Ventures since 1987.
